Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj

Swami Gyananand or better known as Swami Gyananand ji Maharaj, is an Indian Mahamandaleshwar Saint who is known for his research on The Bhagwad Gita and a famous Gita speaker. Swamiji, affectionately known as Maharajji, has interpreted the Gita and inspired many professionals globally. A Hindu philosopher and Social worker, Maharajji is a founder of an organization that follows Vaishnavism called “Shri Krishna Kripa Sewa Samiti” and has also founded another organization called “GIEO GITA” to promote The Bhagwad Gita, so he is also known as Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand ji Maharaj.

Maharajji has completed a Masters in Political Science, later he had become adherent student of his Gurudev Swami Geetanandji from where he attained philosophical interpretation of The Bhagwad Gita.

Maharajji is a devotee of Lord Krishna and considers him as The Almighty. Well versed in The Gita after practicing meditation and other Yoga practises under his Guru Swami Geetanandji, Maharajji founded Shri Krishna Kripa Dham.

Swamiji conceptualized various writings that are chanted by many Lord Krishna followers to please him like “Shri Krishna Kripa Amrit”, “Gita Gyan Bhajan Mala”, “Gyan Chhandavali”, “Shri Krishna Mere Pyare”, “Gyan Manan Mala- Part-1, 2”, “Gita Manan Mala”, “Divyata Ki Jhalkiyan”, “Bhagvat Stuti Evam Prarthna”, “Hamare Gurudev,” “Vidyarthiyon evam Yuvaon ke Prati”. Later, Gurudev established Global Inspiration and Enlightenment Organization of The Bhagwad Gita (GIEO GITA) and annually holds International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra. In recent years we have seen the International Gita Mahotsav also being celebrated abroad. In 2018-Mauritius, 2019-London, 2022-Canada, 2023-Australia and 2024 in Sri Lanka with thousands in attendance.

A celebrated, renowned, and respected Guru, Swami Gyananandji is well liked for his extraordinary contribution and his desire to spread GITA and create a free world; Swami Ji has always bestowed his service to the world through his enlightened vision.

Foundation of Sri Krishna Kripa Sewa Samiti

Devoted to the divine ideas of meditation, service and dedication to humanity (satsang, sewa and sumiran) Gurudev founded this Samiti (organisation). Maharajji has been teaching the practical benefits of meditation and prayers and dealing with the problems and their solutions in day-to-day life since 1990, inspiring and transforming lives. This transnational organisation has been aimed at bringing about a change much required in society.

Early Life

Born in Ambala city of Haryana State on 15th of May 1957, Gurudev showed immense sincerity and seriousness in everything he undertook. His truthfulness and love for God often shocked his parents. ‘Unexamined life is not worth living’ became imprinted on his mind from childhood itself and this made the purpose of his education as well.

Career

After finishing his schooling in Ambala he went on to study Political Science till post-graduation level. Having achieved a Double Master’s degree he felt there was still something missing that those books or classroom lectures couldn’t teach him. Thus, from there started his quest for Divinity and Probity.

The Quest and the Transformation

On the day of his last examination of the Masters program Gurudev felt the dire need of finding answers to some questions that had disturbed him from an early age and made a decision to leave everything there itself and start the journey of examining humanity. Why death? What after death? How to live a good life? Why mortality? Where is permanent peace? How can we achieve it? This chase led him to Veerji’s kutiya (Gurudev’s Guruji Sri Geetanand Ji Maharaj) where he spent the next 8 years critically examining life and its perspectives guided by Veerji and meditation. Then he spent the next 3 years in solitude meditating, where he gave birth to the Guru inside him to take on the responsibility of enlightening and helping us all.

Milestones so far

A wide movement dedicated to serving the cows (Gau sewa), polio operations, free food distribution and meditation camps for a tension free life, have been successfully whirling around all over the world under Gurudev’s organisation taking in its ambit all spheres of society. A wonderful mingling of the philosophy of the following trio – the central ideas in GITA, Duty (Karma), Devotion (Bhakti) and Knowledge (Gyan) can be experienced in Gurudev’s writings and lectures. Under the same umbrella organisation in 2012 Gurudev founded GIEO GITA to make the all-pervasive and extremely useful knowledge encrypted in The Bhagwad GITA more comprehendible and applicable. His aim is to teach the virtue of life through The GITA to everybody from the youth of this country to old.

Mission & Vision

May mankind across the globe, far and near, city dwellers and forest dwellers feel closeness to Gita, may all be able to transform their field of work into field of righteousness and their lives into supreme bliss.

In the form of Global Inspiration and Enlightenment Organisation of Gita the blessings of Shri Krishna and Inspiration of Pujya Gurudev Swami Shri Geetanandji Maharaj are taking shape.

To promote and facilitate cultural activities, competitions for students of schools and colleges and for general public which could help disseminate the message of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita.

To work for the spread of values and moral strength that GITA provides in Indian and World languages.

To create moveable and immovable assets, buildings, institutions requisite for the achievement of the aims and objectives of the society.

To hold seminars, conferences in all parts of India and the world for spread of the message of Bhagwad Gita and bring people of this faith together.

To create sub committees, centers responsible for the implementation of various activities of the organisation.

To create such institution / Centers / Forums in India and other countries which could help spread message of Bhagwad Gita to mankind.
